SLA requires to raise over £300,000 a year to support the work we do in India, a colossal challenge but one that we are determined to meet.
Despite meeting this and subsequent targets, we constantly find ourselves challenged and daunted by the staggering scale of the need, so much greater than the provision we can hope to offer.
In our first year, SLA had 120 children to feed, clothe, house and provide a basic education to. Today, in 2012, the number of children at the Light of Love home in Tuni has grown substantially to 500, a sobering reflection of the endless demand for shelter and refuge. We also have the responsibility for 60 children who live at the Hyderabad home.
