Below are some recent examples of how SLA's supporters have helped us to raise money for the children of SLA.

Fundraising efforts go such a long way towards offering destitute children the gift of hope. Even the smallest amounts go an incredibly long way in rural India.

Take, for example, the lady who heard our founder Gillie Davidson explain SLA's work and was inspired to slim for SLA. She donated £5 for every pound she lost and eventually donated over £400, enough to feed, clothe, house and educate 15 children for one month.

‘Simple Gifts’ is a beautifully arranged and relaxing CD of flute and harp music played by Louise Gard and Hannah Haynes which was recorded in the atmospheric surroundings of Edinburgh churches. So far'Simple Gifts' has raised over £750 for SLA .

Or consider the Men Baking for SLA who have plunged into their family kitchens (some for the very first time) and emerged triumphant with delicious pastries and pies that raised an incredible £2000. past SLA supporter'sWhy not run in the annual Edinburgh Meadows Marathon, along with dozens of Durham University students who have raised extraordinary amounts for the children over the years. Get Sponsored. You don't have to be an Olympian. Greenbank toddlers raised an amazing £1000 during their jaunt around Braidburn Valley Park, Edinburgh. Nick Harcus skied Switzerland's 65th Annual Inferno Race in 15 minutes which isn't bad going for 10 kilometers and in doing so raised over £2500 for SLA .

Eisd held a musical evening for SLA and raised over £800. Eisd (Gaelic for 'Listen') are a professional group of musicians made up of Shuna Sendall, soprano, Matthew Brown, piano and Alex South, clarinet.

If you are participating in a sponsored event please contact us to request an official SLA sponsorship form to collect your sponsor money as well as setting up your own site through the Justgiving website with whom we have partnered with.
