In February 2017 we launched the Girls’ Lives Matter Appeal with a target to raise £100,000 in one year.
Our new Indian partners work in Hyderabad, India, where there are 28,000 children living on the streets, the same number as all the nursery and primary school children in the City of Edinburgh.
We are delighted to announce that we smashed the Appeal target and have raised an incredible £113,060.97.
Many people came together to give to our Appeal throughout the year. The SLA Team would like to thank each and everyone of you for your contribution.
Dynamic Indian organisations, along with local governments, are striving to improve girls’ lives. We are delighted to be partnering with ASRITHA Rainbow Home and VOICE 4 Girls for a trial period of three years. Funds raised will enable our Indian Partners to rescue, care for, educate and empower girls so they can decide their own futures. We are particularly excited because local governments and educators have recognized, endorsed and given some funding towards their work.
