The results of this year’s 10th Class exams have been announced and we are delighted that 54 out of 56 children have passed; the remaining two only failed by one subject and are currently doing their resits.
This is a marvellous result considering the large size of the class and the fact that the curriculum changed this year, with all the extra work that entailed from teachers and children. In the Indian educational system the Class 10 Examinations are the absolutely critical set of examinations during a child’s schooling. Pass these exams and you are admitted to ‘intermediate college’ for two years, the gateway to higher education or a good job.
The results gained in Class 10 are generally accepted across India to be the best measure of the quality of a school.
Regardless of marks in exams, however, the SLA Team is proud of the accomplishments of all the children – academic, sporting or simply the ability to so happily acclimatise to life in Tuni.
