Volunteer in India
SLA offers suitable, interested volunteers the opportunity to spend time in Tuni, helping with the ongoing work at the Light of Love home and the surrounding area. SLA does not finance the volunteers.
Pilot Group Work Expedition
We are reorganising our Volunteer Programme. Once the work on this is completed in Scotland and in India we will be running a Pilot Group Work Expedition in summer 2011.
This will be a great opportunity to meet the children of SLA and become involved in some of the incredibly valuable and rewarding work undertaken by SLA and its inspiring and innovative NGO partner in India. It will be an incredibly busy 2 to 3 week trip.
Places will be limited, but open for anyone over the age of 18 to apply for the selection process if they have a serious commitment to joining us in our work.
If you are interested sand would like to consider applying please contact the SLA office for details.

The SLA story began with a group of committed, idealistic young people selflessly volunteering their time and labour. The original QII trip to India in 1999 was a revelation for all involved. With this in mind, the SLA Trust decided that as part of our awareness-raising mission this incredible experience should be shared.
In the past 10 years over 90 volunteers of all ages, including several medics and teachers, have worked with the children. It means so much to the children that these "white chickens" have travelled so far to help them. It also continually reinforces and refreshes the relationship between the children and staff in India and SLA in Scotland.
