Volunteer in India
SLA offers suitable, interested volunteers the opportunity to spend time in Tuni, helping with the ongoing work at the Light of Love Home and the surrounding area. SLA does not finance the volunteers.
Group Work Expeditions
After two highly successful pilot projects in 2011 taking groups to work with the children in our Light of Love Children’s Home in India, our new India Volunteer Programme was launched.
Each year there will be 2 Group Expeditions: one expedition for Organisations and one expedition open to individuals.
If you are between 18 and 70, are fairly fit and game for adventure, please read our web site, our Volunteers Hand-book and our Terms and Conditions (see adjacent download section). The SLA story began with a group of committed, idealistic young people volunteering their time and labour. The original QII trip to India in 1999 was a revelation for all involved. With this in mind, SLA decided that as part of our awareness-raising mission this incredible experience should be shared. In the past 13 years over 150 volunteers of all ages, including several medics and teachers, have worked with the children. It means so much to the children that people will travel so far to help them. It also continually reinforces and refreshes the relationship between the children and staff in India and SLA in Scotland.
