Amy was a young, blind musician whose bright, loving and courageous personality was an inspiration to everyone who met her. Although she was not able to go to India to meet the children she immediately connected with them. Her association with SLA began with her recording of Janet Anderson’s ‘The Why of a Miracle’ (2003) to fundraise for the Home and School at Tuni. This support continued with her involvement through the Scottish arts community Transgressive North.

Amy performed one of their songs live at Greyfriars Kirk for a SLA fundraising event and gave support and encouragement to the group when they went out to Tuni for the international arts project Everything is New, featuring and supporting the children in the Home in Tuni, south east India.

Amy asked her family to set up a JustGiving Legacy page for those who knew her and are inspired by her life. Her chosen charities are SLA and the Drake Music Scotland where she had recently completed her trainee-ship to become an Associate Community Musician.

Thank you dear Amy. Your joy and courage in life will live on in the children of SLA
