Are you interested in volunteering with Scottish Love in Action? If so, our Open Day is for you!

Our Open Day takes place during Volunteer’s Week – an annual celebration of volunteers and volunteering.

We want to celebrate you. Your support gives young people in India hope for the future, through the power of education.

What will happen on the day?

When you arrive we will guide you to our offices, where we will welcome you with coffee and cake!

You’ll learn about exciting volunteering opportunities at Scottish Love in Action. These will teach you valuable skills, connect you with like minded people and boost your CV! With plenty of roles to choose from, you can be sure we’ll have a role that fits your interests.

You’ll have the chance to network with existing volunteers, staff and trustees and share fundraising ideas.

You’ll fall in love with our life-changing work and discover how you can make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children and young people.

When and where is the Open Day?

Join us on Wednesday 7 June 16:00 – 18:00.

The Open Day will be held at the Greyfriars Charteris Centre, so you can also see around our office.

Event Details

This venue is fully accessible for wheelchair users. Access via the main door which is on street level. Take a lift to the second floor, where you will find our office.

How to get there

On foot

Leave Edinburgh Waverley Train Station station via the Market Street exit. (This is found via the upper walkway within the station concourse). Taxis are available at this exit that will take you to us. However, it’s not too bad a walk (0.6 miles) which will take you around 15 minutes.

By Bus

The closest main bus stop is Surgeons’ Hall and is located on Nicolson Street. If you use the “my bus tracker” app, the code for the stop is 36236563. Numerous buses stop there from all directions and currently include the 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 14, 29, 30, 31, 33, 37, 47, 49. Once you get off you’ll see a nearby set of traffic lights walk towards them then turn into into West Richmond Street (the number 47 also stops in West Richmond Street). Go past the Mackenzie Medical Centre on your left and Life Church on your right. Diagonally opposite to your right at the end of this road is the Charteris Centre. This walk will take you 3 minutes.

By Car

There is no dedicated parking at Greyfriars Charteris Centre, but there is on street parking. There are a few parking spaces at Deaconess Gardens. Enter EH8 9RR into your satnav and be mindful of the 20mph limits in the area.
