Will you transform someone’s life?
Ensure that a young person like Ravali gets the love they so desperately need.
Meet Ravali (photographed on the right)
Ravali lives with her older brother and parents in a two-room home. While her Dad is an alcoholic, the family suffers no stigma (alcoholism is common in India). Both parents have low-paid jobs as cleaners, but the father spends his pay packet on alcohol. The UK has a benefit system that aims to support families who need extra support. There is no safety net in India, so Ravali’s family struggles.
Ravali attends workshops and activities run by local partner, Rainbow Homes. It offers a safe space, an escape from her family’s struggles, a place to have fun and to meet friends.
Ravali’s favourite subjects are Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Her face lit up when she shared that her dream is to have a job in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) when she is older.
