International Women’s Day 2025

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the many women around the world, but especially in India, who go above and beyond, ensuring a better life for their children.

When she was seven years old, Parvati’s Dad died. Following surgery, Parvati’s Mum struggled to work, and now as the main breadwinner, with three mouths to feed – herself, Parvati, and Parvati’s younger sister, life was tough. With no family support network, Parvati’s Mum struggled. A friend told her that other options were available, introducing her to our local partner, Rainbow Homes, who provide support to local families.

It was there, that Parvati and her sister went for help with learning, food, healthcare and keeping fit. Children receive a pencil kit with items of stationery and a blanket for their bed. Items we may take for granted, but for children like Parvati, these are treasured possessions.

With Parvati and her younger sister away at school during the day, this took the pressure of Parvati’s Mum who was able to get some light work that fitted around her health condition.

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the many women around the world, but especially in India, who go above and beyond, ensuring a better life for their children. Together, we want to ensure every child in India has the opportunity to thrive.
