Charvi

Charvi was able to create the change she wanted to see in her community, thanks to VOICE 4 Girls.

VOICE 4 Girls “Camper”

Disturbed by the injustices her family faced from a young age, Charvi longed to do something about it.

Growing up in a family of farmers, Charvi was grateful for their land and produce, though grew upset with the jealousy and disrespect they faced from their local community. Locals trespassed on and used their land. With the threat of violence that accompanied land theft, Charvi’s parents were often afraid, and didn’t have the resources to stop it. Locals that envied, and tried to take her parents’ land, also verbally abused Charvi when she walked to school.

She felt helpless, believing that, as a girl, her dream career in farming and land rights was out of reach.

Thankfully, VOICE 4 Girls completely changed her outlook, making her see that she could do whatever she set her mind to.

At the VOICE camp, Charvi was encouraged to develop a strong work ethic in working towards her goal, so she could eventually create the change she wanted to see in her community. VOICE helped Charvi stand up for herself and her family’s rights and has given her a sense of her inner strength which will help her to fight against wrongdoings in society.
