We’re delighted to share the news that our BBC Radio 4 Appeal Broadcast raised a total of £26,794!
We were honoured to be selected for this prestigious opportunity and huge thanks go to all of our supporters for continuing to help us put Scottish Love in(to) Action.
Our BBC Radio 4 Appeal was on International Women’s Day, Sunday 8th March 2020 and ex-Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq did the broadcast kicking off our Hear my Voice Appeal.
‘I’m a broadcaster and author, but throughout my life I’ve championed the rights of women and girls and I’m also very pro-education. I’ve seen how education can change lives’ – Konnie Huq talks here about why she presented the BBC Radio 4 Appeal for us.

The Hear my Voice Appeal is for our grassroots Indian partner VOICE4Girls, who give impoverished adolescent girls in India the knowledge and information to enable them to stay in education and avoid early marriage, early childbirth, abuse and violence.
Hear my Voice runs throughout the coming year and people can still donate online here or by texting HEARME to 70085 to donate £12. £12 pays for one girl to take part in the VOICE programme, transforming her life and the world around her forever. As Covid-19 continues to make life even harder in India, you can help VOICE4Girls ensure young people can still have a voice, and a choice, in their future.

In 2018/19 alone Radio 4 Appeals raised an impressive total of £1,219,603! SLA are delighted to be one of only 49 charities chosen for this honour this year
